ATKV “Na-matriek raft”

“Bridge Rapid” on the Ash River

Wat: Voldag Asrivier
Wanneer: 24 Februarie 2016
Waar: Clarens

Sasolburg High School at Hopetown, Orange River rafting.

What: 2-dayOrange Rivier tour
When: 28 to 29th of April 2016
Where: Hopetown
Who: Sasolburg High School & friends

The group departs from Sasolburg on  27 April and sleep over at the local hostel in Hopetown. Rafting commences the next day and we run the best rapids named “Hellsgate” and “Hubbly Bubbly”. Sleep -over at “Disselfontein Boskamp”.

The following day starts with a good rapid called “Sideways Sarel”. At “Heart Stop Rock” we shall pause in order to allow the brave of heart to jump from a 6 m cliff into a deep channel in the river. We finish the trip in the afternoon and then back to camp for a shower and a hot meal. The campsite at Disselfontein is rustic and hot water is supplied.

There are 24 beds and the rest of the group will either sleep in tents or in the conference area (own sleeping bags and other necessities).

On the trip both big rafts and two- man inflatables are used. It is not compulsory to run a rapid – hence an individual can choose to skip a rapid.

We supply meals from lunch on day one on the river to a light breakfast on the day of departure.
