Points of interest: Mild winter climate Orange River Gorge Richie Falls A wide variety of interesting features awaits the paddler on this route. "Richie falls" is a 30m waterfall, dropping out of site for the first 15m. Bypassing the falls, we abseil the equipment to get to the bottom of the Orange River gorge. Angling in this gorge has the potential of a record barble since the previous record of 34kg was caught on this stretch. This is a lively stretch of water with lots of islands, channels, mountains, rapids and a changing landscape.
