Die Asrivier is deel van die Hoogland waterskema wat water aan die Vaaldam lewer via die Asrivier uit Lesotho. Die water van die Katse dam vloei vir die eerste keer uit die tonnel net buite Clarens. Dit is gewoonlik silwerskoon en koud maar die versnellings is van die beste in Suid Afrika.

What to expect: Good water levels, excellent rapids, a 6-m cliff to jump from, game and bird watching while paddling. Good fun and adventure.
Style of tour: We camp on the banks of the Orange River and use 2- man inflatables called crocs. All equipment-including camping equipment- and meals are transported on the river. Dry bags are supplied by the operator which are used to keep clothing and other personal gear dry.
Provided by operator: Rafting and safety equipment, all meals on the river (lunch to breakfast), guides.

Why: 4 FUN’S SAKE
The group departs from Sasolburg on 27 April and sleep over at the local hostel in Hopetown. Rafting commences the next day and we run the best rapids named “Hellsgate” and “Hubbly Bubbly”. Sleep -over at “Disselfontein Boskamp”.
The following day starts with a good rapid called “Sideways Sarel”. At “Heart Stop Rock” we shall pause in order to allow the brave of heart to jump from a 6 m cliff into a deep channel in the river. We finish the trip in the afternoon and then back to camp for a shower and a hot meal. The campsite at Disselfontein is rustic and hot water is supplied.
There are 24 beds and the rest of the group will either sleep in tents or in the conference area (own sleeping bags and other necessities).
On the trip both big rafts and two- man inflatables are used. It is not compulsory to run a rapid – hence an individual can choose to skip a rapid.
We supply meals from lunch on day one on the river to a light breakfast on the day of departure.
